July 8 - Kubota Hayride

Our hayride... First stop - the pond...and to our surprise, we actually saw an alligator swimming around near the dock. (Click this picture to see it larger if you like.) This is the first time we've ever seen an alligator "in the wild" at our place after over two years of living here. Pretty exciting stuff.

Dudes being cool.

Jonas + driving = terrified uncle

Each of the kids had a chance at the wheel. Celine was the final driver who delivered us safely to the house again.

That's so awesome! All my children driving. We were just talking today about how our next long family trip (next summer, or the next one??) we'll have another driver to take some shifts.

That's so great - you got to see a gater! That was my goal on our visit, oh well, next time.

Hey Terry - Still can't believe we actually saw an alligator in the pond. 'Til now it's basically been a myth for us...like Nessie, our underwater ally.

Not a chance I'll be swimming in the pond EVER. Would like to get a floaty boat for toodling around the pond though. Maybe something solid instead of inflatable...

I think this particular gator was around 4ft long, about the same size as our "dinner guest" when you guys were down!
