Rebuild NW Florida Replacement Housing

This is Cory with one of our 'replacement housing' clients. This house was just recently built for the Hales near the downtown area of Pensacola. The Hales' previous home on this property was destroyed by Hurricane Ivan. At Rebuild, Cory organizes all the trades to build brand new concrete homes for homeowners that qualify for the program.

My Shirt

This shirt cost me $33 and some discomfort. On February 3rd, I ran the 15K Pensacola Double Bridge Run. Apparently, my math skills are lacking so I figured that 15K was about equal to 7 or 8 miles. At Mile 4 and I was feeling good about being over halfway done and picking up my pace when some much older women passed me and mentioned that all together it's a 9.3 mile run. Regardless, I was still feeling good but wondering if I should've trained...just a little. Anyway, I did finish and came in 245th place out of 306 women - obviously, finishing, is my accomplishment, not finishing in good time. I'm OK with that though since my left leg was kind of cramping up in weird ways. After telling Cory about it after the race, he kindly let me know that "...maybe it's because you're not in your early 20s anymore." Anyway, after crossing the finish line and handing in my time chip I received my t-shirt. Unfortunately, I don't actually have the privilege of wearing my new shirt because it was too big. So Cory, being the nice guy that he is, offered to wear it. Not only was he wearing a cozy sweater, windbreaker and long pants, sipping a Starbucks tea as he waited about 10 minutes in the 'cold' (it was barely above freezing) while I was running along my new running shorts and freezing my knees, he also got my shirt.
